The Tata Ultra T.9 is powered by a 3.3 litre Euro-IV diesel engine delivering 114 kW at 2600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque, paired with a GBS 550 six-speed gearbox to handle varied urban payloads efficiently with a gradeability of 36.64%. The Ultra T.14 features a robust 5.0 litre Euro-IV engine producing 132 kW at 2400 rpm and 590 Nm of torque, mated to a GBS 750 synchromesh gearbox to deliver consistent power and accelerate profitability on long-haul routes.

Advanced safety systems include dual-circuit full-air S-Cam brakes with ABS on both front and rear drums, ensuring reliable stopping performance under heavy loads. The Ultra range is further enhanced by features such as reverse parking assistance buzzers, gear-shift advisors to promote optimal gear changes, and optional driver monitoring systems, collision mitigation, and lane-departure warning for improved operational safety.

Integrated telematics via Tata’s Fleet Edge platform offers features like multimode fuel-economy switches, cruise control, and real-time diagnostics with over-the-air firmware updates to minimise downtime and optimise fleet operations. The new-generation instrument clusters display average fuel economy and gear-shift advisories, while electronic features like a high-speed USB charger and music system enhance user convenience during long shifts.
